Edmeston Central School’s Philosophy is “Opportunity for Lifetime Learning.” Our philosophy will place a premium on learning how to learn so that the students will be able to teach themselves, their families and the community. We will develop positive attitudes for acquiring knowledge and truth. We will offer successful experiences so that students will discover that worthwhile accomplishments are satisfying and rewarding. Edmeston strives to improve student achievement through evolving technology infrastructure, integrating technology applications into the curriculum, developing students into good digital citizens, and enabling our students to learn and demonstrate the skills necessary to help them thrive in a 21st century environment. To make this happen for all our students, the Edmeston Technology Team is pleased to announce that the district is moving forward with 1:1 student devices for the 2019-2020 school year! Dell Laptops will be purchased for each student in grades 7, 9, 11, and 12. Secondary staff received new Dell Laptops earlier this school year and have been receiving ongoing professional development in preparation for our transition to 1:1 devices in the classroom. For the first year, student devices will remain at school, but the District will look at sending devices home with students in following school year. For the 2020-2021 school year additional laptops will be purchased for the remaining secondary students so all students in grades 6-12 will have their own device. We are excited about this initiative and how it will impact student learning. As we move forward with technology, we will be holding informational sessions for our families and community at large.  Stay tuned for more specific information regarding these meetings.
