September 2009
Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:

Another school year begins! We want to make it a successful and positive experience for all of our students. The best way to accomplish this is through cooperation and communication among students, parents and school staff. In this handbook you will find most of the information you will need to know about our school.
It is important to realize that the rules and regulations in this handbook are based on respect for the rights of all the people involved in the school. Consequently, each student has the responsibility to develop the self-discipline and good work habits necessary to function properly in school. All staff members in the school are here to assist students in developing their potential, but a large part of the responsibility rests with each student's interest in taking advantage of all the opportunities offered. Working together, we can make this a successful and productive year.

If you are involved in our high school program, it is important that you develop a good understanding of the requirements for graduation. New York State has developed a new set of standards including course and testing mandates that must be met in order to graduate from any New York State High School. These requirements are rigorous and should be seriously considered as you work toward this most important goal, graduation.

We are proud of our students and look forward to a terrific school year. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Together we will make this great school even better.

All students must sign an acknowledgment that they have received a handbook and will share it with their parents. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Martha Winsor,
Principal
